Alice Sloan Trust, in partnership with Alexandra Secondary College, The Outdoor Education Group and Berry Street provides the opportunity for a group of Year 11 students to participate in a 10-day expedition. The girls participate in challenging activities including bushwalking, camping, canoeing and cycling in the local Alexandra region. The expedition promotes personal growth and skill development, and is the platform for participation in the Youth Leadership Award.

The Alice Sloan Expedition takes place annually in January, with the 11th Expedition recently concluding in January 2017.

Well done to the seven girls for completing their 10 day journey. Below is a photo of the team at the finish with Jennie Sloan (and John in the back!) who greeted them with big smiles and a few treats!

Youth Leadership Award

Following the Expedition, participants are invited to undertake the Youth Leadership program that promotes involvement in community programs. These programs include public speaking, community fund-raising and peer support of local primary school students.  The program, implemented by Berry Street, builds on the Expedition and challenges students to develop their skills and personal qualities to enhance their potential for future leadership roles.
