Alice Sloan Trust partnered with the Ardoch Youth Foundation in 2013.

Ardoch Youth Foundation is a Melbourne-based children’s charity providing education support for disadvantaged children and young people. They deliver tailored education and wellbeing programs that address barriers to education, develop skills and broaden horizons. Ardoch mobilise volunteers to support schools and early childhood centres and advocate for change. They have four target areas around Melbourne; Inner-city, Frankston, Geelong and Sunshine.

One of Ardoch’s key programs is called ‘Broadening Horizons’. In this program Ardoch connects children and young people with the world beyond their postcode through excursions and learning experiences. Broadening Horizons provides students in areas of high disadvantage with unique learning and life experiences. This includes excursions, sport, art, music and dance activities.

As part of the ‘Broadening Horizons’ program, Alice Sloan Trust is extremely pleased to announce that we fund an outdoor education camp for the children of Frankston’s Aldercourt Primary School. Alice Sloan Trust has made a commitment that sees to a group of approximately fifty students spend three days (two nights) at the Briars camp in Mount Martha annually. The opportunity to go on a school camp has never been available at this school, and we hope that it proves to be a positive experience for all.

The first three camps have successfully taken place and Alice Sloan Trust looks forward to working with the Ardoch Youth Foundation into the future.

To find out more, please contact Alice Sloan Trust. If you are interested in volunteering on the camp, please check out Ardoch Youth Foundation’s website and become a volunteer.
